Long-standing Editorial Board member Neil Wilkof (IPKat, Dr. Eyal Bressler & Co.) will be in London in January to deliver two exciting IP lectures loosely based on recent JIPLP articles (so recent, in fact, that one has not yet been published!).
Neil's first lecture will be on "Changing Commercial Circumstances, IP and the Revenge of the Common Law" and will take place at King's College London, Strand Building, S-2.08, on the 23rd of January, 6.00 - 7.30pm. The corresponding JIPLP article, "‘Turn and face the strange’—how changes in commercial circumstances determined the outcomes in Scandecor and Starbucks (HK)", coauthored with Ellie Wilson, has just been published in our January issue and is available online here. To attend this lecture, please register on its dedicated Eventbrite page.
The second appointment with Neil is at the UCL Engineering Front Building - Roberts 508 Theatre, on the 25th of January, 4.15 - 5.30pm. The event, organised by the UCL Institute of Brand and Innovation Law (IBIL) and chaired by Dr. Ilanah Fhima, will seek to answer an intriguing question: "Branding and Co-Branding: How Much Do They Really Contribute to Innovation?". Neil has recently drafted a paper on "Branding, Co-branding and Innovation: Expectations and Limitations", which has already been accepted for publication in JIPLP and will be available in Advance Access in the coming weeks.
